MIA Instant Payments is a payment system developed by the National Bank of Moldova (NBM) through which you can receive or request money transfers only with mobile phone number, in just a few seconds.
The MIA service can be activated at the same time for only one MDL account (basic account) opened at financial institutions in Moldova, with the possibility to change it whenever you need.

The service allows transfers in MDL between individuals' accounts through several options:

- Instant Payment (P2P) - allows you to make a quick transfer by simply indicating the recipient's phone number.
- Request for Payment (RTP) - allows you to send a transfer request to an individual using their phone number.
- Me2Me - allows making a transfer between personal accounts opened at different financial institutions in the country.
- Payment by QR code - allows payment by scanning the QR code provided by the merchant.
- Payment by Link - allows payment by accessing a unique link.

How do you activate MIA in OTP Mobile Banking?

1. Go to the OTP Mobile Banking app, "Settings" menu, then "MIA Settings" .
2. Activate "Get money with MIA" by swiping right the "Activate" button.
3. From the list of available MDL accounts, select a basic account for making and receiving transfers with MIA Instant Payments.

How does it work?

Instant Payment (P2P)

1. Go to the MIA Instant Payments menu from the list of services in the OTP Mobile Banking app, then "Instant Payment (P2P)";
2. Select the OTP Bank source account from which you will send the money;
3. Access from the Address Book, or enter the phone number of the person you are transferring to;
4. Enter the amount for payment and press the "Transfer" button.

Request for Payment (RTP)

Request a Transfer

1. Go to the MIA Instant Payments menu from the list of services in the OTP Mobile Banking app, then "Request Transfer (RTP)", "Sent" section;
2. Click on the "Create Request" button;
3. Select the OTP Bank source account where you will receive the money;
4. Access from the Address Book, or enter the phone number of the person to whom you are sending the request;
5. Enter the desired amount, and press the "Confirm" button.

Receive a Transfer Request

1. Select the pop-up notification from the list of notifications on your phone, or access the MIA Instant Payments menu from the list of services in the OTP Mobile Banking app, then "Request Transfer (RTP)", "Received" section
2. Open the request, verify the data and press the "Confirm" button
3. Select the OTP Bank account for the transfer
4. Press the "Confirm" button and authorize payment

Transfer Me2Me

1. Go to the MIA Instant Payments menu from the list of services in the OTP Mobile Banking app, then "Me2Me Transfer"
2. Select the OTP Bank source account from which you will send the money;
3. Select the account to which the money will be transferred (the list will display all accounts on which you have activated the MIA service at least once);
4. Enter the desired amount and press the "Transfer" button.

Payment by QR code

Create a QR code

1. Go to the OTP Mobile Banking app, MIA Instant Payments menu, then "My QR".
2. Select the OTP Bank source account where you will receive the money.
3. Optionally set a fixed amount and add a message.
4. Send the QR code or display it directly for scanning.

Pay by QR code

1. Access your mobile phone camera, or the MIA Instant Pay menu from the list of services in the OTP Mobile Banking app, then "Pay by QR"
2. Scan the QR code received
3. Select the OTP Bank source account from which you will transfer the money
4. Verify the data and press the "Transfer" button.

Payment by Link

1. Receive the unique link provided by the provider, which directs to a secure payment page
2. Select the banking application through which you will make the payment - OTP Mobile Banking
3. Confirm the transaction
